During our Country Drive Spring Showcase Weekend, June 2 and 3, The Blooming Fields have a Big Treasure Hunt for children! They have to discover the golden tulip. During their trip around the world with the bulbs that they have found they will come across wild animals, bandits, and corrupt border patrols. They have to run, hide and be smart in order to reach the King at the end of their journey. The King will ask them to paint him a big painting to tell him about all their travels. At the conclusion of their trip the King will reward every participant with a royal gift.

On June 3, during the Country Drive Spring Showcase, The Blooming Fields will also have a book reading from dee Hobsbawn-Smith, who will take us on an edible Alberta Alphabet tour with her newest book “Foodshed” dee Hobsbawn-Smith is a Calgary writer, chef and food advocate. The Blooming Fields is one of the 75 farms she describes in her book. She will be available to sign copies of her book, from 11:00am-1:00pm on Sunday, June 3rd.
On June 16 they feature an Open House featuring biologic growing practices at The Blooming Fields. Do you want to know more about growing things without spraying? Do you know how to grow food with the help of organic herbicides and pesticides? Come to The Blooming Fields and get the tour of the land. Pim van Oeveren, the owner, will explain how he gradually has turned his farm from a chemically controlled pest management into one that hardly uses any chemicals, while the crops are flourishing better than ever before.
The tour starts at 11:00am. There will be time for Q and A after the tour. Admission is $ 7.50 p.p. or 2 for $12.50.
